About EDEN
INCEPTION, DEVELOPMENT, AND GROWTH
Compassion has always been at the core of our hearts. From the very beginning, we felt a strong urge to help those who are in great need, individuals denied even the basic necessities of life. We extended our hands in service, doing what we could within our means to support the deserving and the needy.
Our humble acts of service did not go unnoticed. They were keenly observed by our beloved sister, Mrs. Sheela Navamani, and her husband, Dr. Navamani. Recognizing our efforts, they shared them with our esteemed uncle, Mr. George Joseph, who was deeply involved with “Ashram International.”
When Uncle George Joseph and Aunty visited India, they witnessed firsthand what we were striving to accomplish. It was then that they encouraged us to formalize our efforts and start a Trust, urging us to expand our services to a larger community. Their belief in us and continuous guidance inspired us to take a bold step forward, and thus, Eden Charitable Trust was born. With God in mind and a sincere zeal to serve humanity, the Trust started with humble beginnings and has since grown, backed by the unwavering support and patronage of those committed to serving mankind.
A key figure in our journey has been our Uncle, Mr. George Joseph. Not only did he provide the initial inspiration, but he also took on the financial burden, laying the groundwork for the Trust’s foundation. His generosity and vision were instrumental in turning our dream into reality.
We also owe a great debt of gratitude to Mr. A.T. David Johnson, Retired Income Tax Superintendent, who offered continuous moral support. He became the Trust’s very first donor, giving generously from his meager pension every month. His selflessness is a testament to the spirit of giving that drives our mission.
As we now celebrate 27 years of dedicated service, we take immense pride in what Eden Charitable Trust has achieved. From its inception in 1998, we have never wavered from our goals, aims, or objectives. Every day, our commitment to serving society only grows stronger. With each passing year, we have seen a steady expansion in our social service activities, propelled by an ever-increasing enthusiasm to uplift those in real need.
About Eden Charitable Trust
Eden Charitable Trust was founded in 1998 with a noble mission: “To Educate the Uneducated, Elevate the Poor, and Provide for the Needy.” The Trust is run by an inspiring group of women who are wholly dedicated and committed to serving all of humanity, transcending barriers of caste, color, and creed.
In many rural areas, people remain unaware of their basic rights and opportunities. At Eden Charitable Trust, we are deeply committed to raising awareness and empowering individuals to break free from the confines of ignorance. Through education, awareness campaigns, and support initiatives, we aim to give the disadvantaged the tools they need to explore their potential and achieve self-reliance.
Our work is multifaceted, addressing the various dimensions of human need. From educational programs to healthcare initiatives, livelihood support, and community empowerment, Eden Charitable Trust has been a beacon of hope for countless underprivileged individuals. We don’t just provide charity; we provide a pathway to dignity, self-sufficiency, and a brighter future.
Over the years, we have touched the lives of thousands. Yet, our journey is far from over. Every day brings new challenges, but also new opportunities to make a difference. Our dedication to a just and equitable society fuels our passion to continue this journey of service, reaching out to the most marginalized and vulnerable in our community.
Together, with your support and the grace of God, Eden Charitable Trust will continue to be a force for good, a bridge to a better world where every individual can live with dignity and opportunity.
